I’m Derek Schmitt, the proud owner and operator of Lawn Island Lawn Care, LLC.

Originally from Long Island, New York, I made the big leap to North Carolina in 2016 with my wonderful wife, Heather Schmitt. We were ready for a new adventure, and North Carolina has certainly become a cherished place for our family.Together, Heather and I are blessed with two beautiful children, Derek Jr. and Chloe Lynn. They bring so much joy to our lives and inspire me to work hard and create a loving home.

Family time is a priority for us, and we often spend our weekends exploring the great outdoors or working on projects around the yard. I find that involving my children in lawn care not only teaches them valuable skills but also strengthens our bond as a family.Aside from being a dedicated husband and father, I also serve as a law enforcement officer in my community. This role is one I take great pride in, as it allows me to give back and help keep our neighborhood safe. However, my passion for landscaping and lawn care has always been a significant part of my life. It started as a hobby while I was still working in law enforcement, and over the years, I realized that I wanted to turn that passion into something more.That’s when I decided to start Lawn Island Lawn Care, LLC. With the support of my family and the skills I’ve honed over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to providing top-notch lawn care services to my community. I believe that a well-maintained lawn can transform a home, enhance curb appeal, and provide a welcoming environment for families and friends. My team and I take pride in offering a range of services, from routine maintenance to complete landscaping redesigns.Being a part of my clients’ journey to achieve their dream outdoor space is incredibly fulfilling.
